Alaska Waterfall Boudoir with a side of the ocean.
So I have this location that I shoot at a lot during the summer months, and it may just be my favorite location. It has all of the things I love in one place. Thick mossy forest, a beautiful little river, a waterfall with a gorgeous punchbowl at the bottom, and it's right on the coast. And to top it all off, it is not a popular location. It’s hidden and beautiful and is the perfect recipe for a boudoir shoot location.
So let's start with the ocean. I have an ongoing love affair with the ocean. I love the seaweed. I love the big rocks along the coast. I love that it rains a lot. I love the lapping of waves against the rocks that are perfect skipping stones. If you ask anyone, they will tell you that I can spend hours in or on the ocean looking at all of the little creatures. So naturally, one my my favorite places for a session, is on the coast.
I could put so many photos with the ocean here, but I am going to move onto the mossy forest that borders the ocean. Big spruces trees dripping in lichen and moss. Fallen trees to perch on and streams and river running through them. It’s mossy forest boudoir with a splash of forest fairy and water nymphs. It is whimsical and earthy. And beautiful.
And then we get to the waterfall. A beautiful blue punchbowl in the middle of a mossy forest. Rocks to climb on. Freezing cold water to cold plunge in. And fallen trees to lounge on. I mean seriously how could one location have all of these beautiful things.
So now you see why this is my one of my favorite locations for a session. It has so much to offer in such a small space that you absolutely cannot go wrong. Although there is a high likelihood that it will rain… it is a rainforest after all.
